Yoga Instructor/ Retreat Facilitator/Bereaved mother

Amelia is a yoga teacher, retreat facilitator, author and mother from Winnipeg, Canada. She is also the creator of, a unique line of inspired and custom-designed yoga apparel made in Canada. Her love of yoga began in 2007, when she found her way to her first yoga class as an anxious, insomniac university student. Ever since, deepening her understanding of yoga has been her passion and life’s calling. In 2010 received her 500hr Moksha yoga teacher training certification in Montreal, and in 2012 her Level 2 Moksha yoga certification in Costa Rica.  

Kathryn Smandych

Yoga Instructor/ Thai Massage Therapist/ Bereaved Grandmother

Kathryn has been teaching yin yoga, restorative yoga, and Sridaiva (Bowspring Postural Alignment) Yoga since 2013 and has been practicing yoga since the '90s. She was inspired by Dillon Cherrett and also studied with Bernie Clark (Yin), Diana Batts (Yin), John Friend (Sridaiva) and Desi Springer (Sridaiva). Kathryn graduated from Source Yoga Studio’s 200 hr. teacher training in 2013 and certified as a Thai Massage Practitioner in 2014. She is currently working on her 500 hr. certification at Semperviva. Kathryn’s classes empower people to heal their bodies and their souls. She provides a safe space to mindfully explore the body’s physical and energetic holding patterns allowing the body and mind to free itself from physical and emotional pain. She is also Landon's grandma and has been an integral part of Amelia's healing journey. 

Dawn MacDonald

Meditation Teacher/ Bereaved Mother

Dawn is a teacher of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), which is modelled on the program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre. MBSR is an approach to self-care that can assist in managing stress, pain and illness. The practice of meditation is used to help people learn to focus awareness on body sensations, thoughts, and emotions in a nonjudgmental way. Through this practice, a person is given the opportunity to explore their inner world of mind/body, recognize and mobilize their inner psychological resources and take better care of the self. She is the creator and education lead of The Compassion Project at St.Boniface Hospital, and is currently in the process of completing her master’s degree in Social Work.

Janelle Cancade-White


Janelle is a One on One Peer Recovery Advisor at the Anxiety Disorders Association of Manitoba and a private counselor. She is a mom of 2 teenagers, a yoga enthusiast, recovering chronic over-thinker and student of Life. Janelle’s desire is to guide her clients toward finding their own wisdom and strength so that they can lead a more fulfilling, Joy-filled life.

Niki Trosky

Yoga Instructor/Photographer/Workshop facilitator

Niki is a creative entrepreneur who founded Love Life Productions in 2008. Her work is focused on empowering women through photo shoots, international healing retreats, yoga classes, workshops and public speaking events. "Love Life" the book is her latest endeavour and her debut memoir. It is about uncovering the power of self from within.
